Beachfront lawn inside a hardwood deck
Ready lawn laid inside a hardwood deck surround, with timber edging and in-deck lights. Built for salt air and coastal wind.

Stepping-stone garden beside the deck
Stepping stones through cream chip and river stones, with black sleeper edging, a composite step and new planting along the fence.

Artificial turf beside the deck
Lush 35 artificial turf laid in a Takapuna courtyard, between a timber deck and a black-stained fence. It stays green year-round with no mowing, and a well-prepared base underneath keeps it flat and free-draining.

Pebble garden, sleeper retaining and paver path
A tired strip of lawn beside the deck, which stayed damp and patchy, turned into a low-maintenance pebble garden. We built black sleeper retaining to set the levels, laid a curved paver stepping-stone path through cream chip, and edged the beds with river pebbles. The gravel lets water drain straight through, which matters on Greenhithe's clay soils.

From bare ground to a family garden under the trees
This section was overgrown, and once cleared it was bare soil under a group of established trees. We kept the trees, built timber retaining and sleeper-edged planting beds, and added a sleeper-and-gravel stepped path from the house. Then we laid a new lawn and planted out the borders. The family now has a usable, low-fuss backyard that works with the trees instead of fighting them.
